Amy Holsten, PhD

In-person in Augusta, GA; virtual in 42 states

I’ve spent over 25 years helping people untangle life’s toughest knots—whether it’s navigating trauma, surviving a high-conflict divorce, or making sense of a psychological assessment.

I’m a straight shooter with a big heart, and I’ll give you the clarity and practical tools you need. I believe in real conversations, real solutions, and making sure the work we do together actually helps you move forward.

Clients tell me they finally feel seen when we work together. They appreciate that I don’t just nod and take notes — I’m in it with them, holding space for the hard stuff while also helping them take real steps toward change.

I balance warmth with honesty, validation with action, and I’ll always tell you the truth — even when it’s tough to hear. My clients know I’m in their corner, fighting for their progress just as much as they are.

I specialize in working with children, teens, and families, helping them navigate challenges with empathy, validation, and practical tools. I’m passionate about working with underserved communities and those who have experienced adversity, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they deserve.

Clients tell me they feel genuinely heard and supported when we work together. I balance deep emotional work with a lighthearted, encouraging approach, offering gentle challenges that bring clarity and insight.

Kids and teens appreciate that I “get” them, and parents feel reassured knowing they have someone in their corner who truly listens. My goal is to help you feel more confident, capable, and equipped with tools that actually make life easier.
